Adjusting your plan, illness & holidays

What is the Readiness Score and what do I do with it?

The Readiness Score on the home screen shows how ready Trait thinks you are for today's training. If you feel worse, drag it down yourself – Trait will then offer you alternatives to today's session. If you're sick or injured, it's also the way to pause your plan.

The Readiness Score on the home screen is your daily steering wheel for the plan. It shows how ready you are for today's planned training from Trait's point of view.

What Trait takes into account

Trait also factors in extra strain that wasn't in the plan – say, yesterday's tennis match that you gave a subjective rating. In that case, Trait lowers the score on its own, for example to 30% instead of the expected 70%.

What you can do yourself

  • Drag the score down: If you feel worse than Trait assumes (e.g. 30% instead of 60%), set the score lower yourself. This tells Trait: “I'm not where I should be today according to the plan.”
  • View alternatives: Then tap today's session and choose Alternatives. Trait suggests alternatives that match your score – from an easier session to a full rest day. You can still run the session as planned, though. Details: I don't feel fit today – what do I do?
  • Report sick or injured: If you drag the score all the way down to 0%, Trait asks “What's wrong?” and offers to pause your plan. See Sick or injured: pausing the plan and getting back into it.

Many users don't know about this flow because it isn't obvious at first glance – yet it lets you adapt your plan to your form and your everyday life practically every day. Why Trait doesn't just rewrite the plan itself instead is explained in Why doesn't Trait automatically rewrite my plan?
