I'm getting friend requests I don't want – can I turn them off or block someone?

On Trait, any user can send you a friend request, optionally with a short message. This can't be turned off entirely – but you have several ways to get rid of unwanted requests.

Blocking someone

• Decline the request. After some time, the person can repeat it once.
• If you decline the request a second time, the person is blocked for you and can't send you another request.

Getting fewer requests

• Set your profile to private – see Public or private profile.
• Choose a neutral name (e.g. “Sibylle35”) and a neutral photo. Anyone who isn't recognizable as a real person usually gets hardly any requests – see What can others see about me?.

Good to know: A friend request on its own isn't harassment. However, if you come across inappropriate content – such as offensive profile pictures or threats – please report it to us: Reporting an inappropriate profile.
