Predictions & stats

How do I see my progress when the prediction barely changes?

You'll see your progress more clearly in the charts and statistics on the Stats page than in the prediction. Other signals: Trait suggests faster paces after checkout or in the monthly heart rate analysis when you've gotten fitter. If your training progress drops, it's because less volume was imported than planned – not because of your checkout rating. If a run you've just saved is missing from the overview, fully restarting the app usually helps.

Many people expect progress to show up mainly in the prediction. But the prediction is the wrong tool for that: over time it mainly gets more accurate, not necessarily faster (see Why is my prediction getting worse?). That's also why it deliberately sits in a submenu (Stats → Feelgood Pace tile), so you don't fixate on it every day. Progress shows up in other places.

1. The Stats page

On the Stats page you'll find charts and statistics on your training, your training progress and your load. There you can see how your training develops over weeks and months – that's the better basis for judging your progress.

Good to know: your training progress only drops when less volume was imported than the plan called for – in other words, shorter or slower sessions than planned. Your subjective rating in the checkout has no effect on it. A typical case is treadmill runs, where the watch records too little distance or too slow a pace; a single session hardly stands out, but many of them in a row do.

2. The pace suggestions

After every checkout, Trait checks whether your session was as hard as expected. If the same easy session feels noticeably easier in month three, that's a sign your fitness has improved – Trait will then suggest raising your paces. In addition, about once a month Trait compares your heart rate at the same pace with the previous month. If it has dropped, you've gotten fitter and Trait suggests faster paces. Each of these suggestions is a visible progress signal. You can apply the suggestions with Pro; in Free you'll see that an analysis has taken place.

Note: with a plan that has a fixed goal time, there are no such suggestions. There, all paces are derived from the goal time and are already set for every week. In that case, you'll see your progress mainly on the Stats page.

3. Your load from all activities

Other sports also count proportionally towards your load and progress – exactly how is explained under How do other sports count towards my load?

A run is missing from the overview?

If a run was saved without an error message, it's saved. The app uses a cache so it doesn't have to reload all sessions every time you open it – which is why a brand-new session sometimes only appears in the calendar and statistics after you fully close and restart the app.
