Watches & connections
Please don't do this for a single missing activity. Reconnecting is only worth it if two or three sessions haven't arrived within about a week. Reconnecting too often puts a strain on the connection. When you reconnect, Trait re-imports the last three months – without duplicates.
In short: only if you really need to.
If a single activity is missing or hasn't shown up after ten minutes, that's no reason to set up the connection again. In most cases the session arrives on its own – in the worst case it takes a day (see My activity hasn't arrived in Trait). Disconnecting and reconnecting too often puts a strain on the connection to your provider, and at some point it may stop working altogether.
When reconnecting makes sense: If two or three sessions haven't arrived within about a week, something is probably wrong with the connection. In that case, do the following:
What happens when you reconnect: Every time a connection is established, Trait imports the sessions from the last three months. Sessions that are already in Trait are not imported twice. Activities older than three months won't come through even if you reconnect. Sessions that got lost during transfer usually can't be recovered this way either.
You can make up for individual lost sessions by manually marking the planned workout in Trait as done.
