Watches & connections

Why aren't my workouts in Garmin Connect or on my Garmin watch?

The Garmin export is a Pro feature. Trait never sends the whole plan, but roughly the current week to Garmin Connect; towards the end of the week, one or two sessions of the following week are added. Sessions further in the future intentionally don't appear yet.

Exporting your planned workouts to Garmin is a Pro feature. You set up the connection under Home screen → Settings → Connections.

Important to know: Trait never sends the whole plan to Garmin Connect, but roughly the current week. Towards the end of the week (Friday to Sunday), one or two sessions of the following week are usually added. So if you're looking for workouts two or three weeks out, it's not a bug that they aren't on your watch yet.

If this week's workouts are missing too, please check:

  1. Is Pro active? You can see this under Settings → Subscription. If the app shows Free there even though you've purchased, use the option there to restore your purchase.
  2. Is the Garmin connection in place? Under Settings → Connections, Garmin should be shown as connected.
  3. Has your watch synced with Garmin Connect? The workouts first arrive in Garmin Connect and from there on your watch.

If a workout still doesn't arrive in time, just run it freely with your watch and manually mark the planned workout as done in Trait – or assign the imported run to the workout (Pro). The run itself arrives in Trait via the Garmin import anyway.
